This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it when you use the I QUIT BETTING application ("Application").
1) What data do we collect?
I QUIT BETTING can be used anonymously. For anonymous users and non-subscribers, primarily application usage data and some technical data necessary for the application to function may be collected.
The questions we ask within the application are not intended to directly identify the person. We may request the following information from you:
- Addiction type / name (category and/or selections)
- Sobriety start date
- Survey responses related to reaching milestones
- Daily check-in data (e.g., pledge/review notes, mood/urge scores, successful day information)
- Triggers (stress, boredom, etc.) and coping strategies (breathing, walking, etc.)
- Signals/summaries necessary for risk assessment (may be derived from your in-app usage and check-in data)
We request explicit consent from you when necessary to collect this data.
Crash and error data: When the application crashes or errors, crash / error diagnostic data may be collected to help us fix errors and improve quality.
2) Account data
If you create an account in I QUIT BETTING, the following data may be processed:
- Email address (for account creation / login / support processes)
- Optional profile photo
- Technical information related to your interaction with the application (e.g., IP address, application version, device platform, language/locale, time zone)
3) I QUIT BETTING Plus (subscription) data
When you subscribe to I QUIT BETTING Plus, we may offer features such as cloud backup. Information you provide in this context (your addictions, start dates, daily notes, etc.) may be stored and backed up on our servers.
This data may contain sensitive information depending on the purpose of use (e.g., addiction behavior, daily notes, mood/urge scores).
4) Community (optional) data
When you reach a milestone, you can choose to share your "story" with the community. This sharing may include:
- Your chosen username
- Profile photo
- Story text and photo
Content shared in these areas may become public. Therefore, you should be careful and avoid sharing personal information you do not want to share.
5) What do we use this data for?
We use the data for the following purposes:
- To provide, operate, and improve the application
- To manage your account (login, support requests, security)
- To improve the application experience (performance, debugging, usability)
- To generate anonymized or aggregated statistics (e.g., general data to increase user motivation)
- To manage and verify subscription processes (Plus features)
6) Who do we share data with?
We do not share personal data with third parties except those necessary for the service to function. We do not disclose your data unless there is a legal obligation or valid official request (court order, etc.).
The following third-party services may be used in the application:

7) What do we do with photos?
For some features within the application (e.g., profile photo, milestone sharing), access to your camera and device storage may be requested.
- We process your photos only when you use the relevant feature.
- In features with server upload, photos may be stored securely on our servers.
8) Where is data stored? (DigitalOcean + Coolify)
Application data is hosted and processed on servers (droplets) we rent on DigitalOcean, on infrastructure managed through Coolify. For more information about DigitalOcean's own privacy approach:

Data may be processed/stored in a region outside your country (depends on the infrastructure region you choose).
9) Protection of user data
We implement reasonable and commonly accepted technical/organizational measures to protect your data. For example:
- Use of TLS/HTTPS during data transmission
- Access control, role/key management to reduce unauthorized access
- Server and database security updates
- Backup and log management when necessary
No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure; however, we aim to implement appropriate security measures to protect your data.
10) How long do we store data?
We store your data for as long as your account is active and you use our services. When you delete your account or request deletion, your data will be deleted or anonymized unless legal obligations or legitimate interests require otherwise.
11) How can I delete my data?
You can delete your data through the options provided within the application (depending on features).

12) Child safety
During application setup, you are asked to confirm that you are at least 18 years old. Use by those under 18 is not intended.
13) Rights under GDPR / KVKK
Depending on your country and region (e.g., GDPR for EU, KVKK for Turkey), you may have rights regarding your personal data. To the extent applicable, you may have the following rights:
- Requesting a copy of your personal data we hold
- Requesting correction or deletion
- Restricting / objecting to processing
- Requesting data portability (to the extent applicable)
